LINEAR MODEL OF UNDERSTANDING

Abstract: 
The article suggests a graphic interpretation of the intellect work during the process of translation. The realization of this task demands the revelation of the peculiarities of the text analysis in the translator’s recognition when choosing the meaning of the utterance element appropriate to the context under consideration. The explanation is set on the example of non-typical use of the definite article in English literary prose.
